Village of Washingtonville Court Demeanor
- Never approach the Judge's Bench without first being told to do so.
- Do not bring any weapons of any type. Officers will search all persons, bags, associated items and (or) anyone who is acting in a suspicious manner.
- Arrive at the designated time.
- Dress for court in professional attire - no hats, shorts, torn clothing, or t-shirts; and no cigarette/alcohol use in the court or on the grounds.
- Behave in a professional manner. No profanity, gum chewing or food/soda allowed in the courtroom. Act in a mature, responsible and dignified manner.
- Refrain from keeping your hands in your pockets.
- Remain seated until you are called by the court.
- All persons shall stand while addressing the court. All statements and communications to the court must be clearly and audibly made from the counsel table.
- All cellular phones and pagers must be either turned off or placed in silent mode.
